Homemade Baby Scales

When we need something custom made, Beth has the skills. As we're not seeing Colleen for a couple of weeks we decided to go ahead and create our own baby scales to keep track of Ed's progress.

The scale part was simple enough, we bought a digital luggage scale at Walmart. The baby-sling part was slightly more complex, but within a day Beth got together the materials and created this:

The fabric Beth had left over from a cancelled project, the D rings she found at Vincent St. Paul's (a charity shop) as part of a belt. A touch of Beth magic on her sewing machine and voilà, a baby scale sling.

We keep Ed in a diaper for his weighing, but weigh the sling & empty nappy separately to deduct them from the weight to get pure Edness. Yesterday he weighed 8lbs 12oz.
