We were very surprised to find that a small clip on our Bob stroller had broken, sometime before the third time we tried to use it. The clip holds the stroller together when folded, so it's not vital, but you don't expect things to break by the third usage. Fortunately, with her usual careful forethought, Beth bought our stroller from REI, an outdoor/adventure type store that has a lifetime dissatisfaction return policy, and in any case the fault was covered under the manufacturer's 1-year warranty. We called REI and they had more of the same stroller in stock, so yesterday we went along and did an exchange.
Our first thought was that we could just change out the clip, but due to the construction of the stroller this was impossible. We could have cut through the stitching on the strap to get the clip off, but we could never have replaced it with the same strength nylon line, so the strap would have been suspect from then on. The strap is for putting round your wrist while pushing the stroller, and doubles to hold the clip that secures the stroller shut when it is collapsed.
Thus we had an outing to REI and, it so happened that the price had dropped $50 since we bought ours, so by returning the broken one and taking a new one, we got a refund which more than paid for a drinks holder that will eventually be used by Edward when he is big enough to sit in the stroller facing forward and hold a sippy cup.
You mean big enough to grab his sippy cup out of the drink holder and throw it on the sidewalk. Yeah, that's what you meant.
