One of our targets is to get Ed to take to bottle feeding, but still accept the breast. Too early or too late and he might refuse one or the other. He'll have to take bottle feeding by 12 weeks so I can feed him when Beth is at work.
Yesterday Beth expelled and pumped to get 2oz of milk into this bottle. Next time Ed was hungry I fed him, and like the greedy Gannet he is, he showed no surprise or distaste, just gobbled it down with the slightest pause to work out how the nipple on this thing worked. 2 oz wasn't enough for his copious gut however, and in a few minutes he was back to the source of all nutrition for a second helping.
Our plan is to do at least one bottle feed a day for a week, then add one one at night, and so on until he'll switch with ease, and give Beth a better night's sleep.
Way to go! So glad he took the bottle pretty easily!
