A new piece of baby kit we recently added is the Bumbo. This bright green seat is supposed to help bridge the gap between good head control and being able to sit unassisted.
Ed is still a little short on the head control, so we're a little premature putting him in it, but it offers a more normal view of the world than lying on his playmat so we're doing it occasionally. That doll he has near him is a natural cotton product that he can suck on safely. He has got grasping down, but not reaching for things yet.
Yesterday Ed went to the hospital for his second round of shots, one in each thigh this time. He didn't enjoy it one bit, and is now (the day after jabs) running a very slight fever, wrapped up in a swaddle and two more layers, in his crib. Poor reward for the fantastic little boy he has been over the past few disrupted weeks.
I love all the new smily pics in the slideshow.
