Excuse Me?

Busy here, OK?

Ed has his first try on an adult potty with seat insert this weekend. Don't worry, there's a parent within arm's reach in case he tips off, but in fact he seems very stable and comfortable on there.  This toilet is the one in our Jack-and-Jill bathroom, so it's the one he'll be using most often until, well, he goes to college (or we throw him out of the house). We have a step stool to help him when he's old enough to climb up on his own, or Beth may craft a set of wooden stepped diases to create a step up around the potty, which would be more stable.

Unfortunately he also had some form of food intolerance (we think) this weekend, and consequentially some unhappy poops, after having scrambled egg yolks cooked in olive oil. He's had boiled egg yolks before with no reaction, so it might have been the scrambling, the small amount of egg white that got into the scrambled yolks, or the oil. We discovered the oil we used isn't 100% pure, as stated on the label, because apparently it's totally legal in America to lie about olive oil and its purity.  Most food intolerances disappear by the agte of five, so even if he has an intolerance now it may not last.

  1. I am still somewhat awed by the baby-on-potty concept, as I had never heard of such a thing before you guys. I am amazed that it's working out.
