The Year Closes

It's been a while since we posted.  Due to some software changes on my computer, it was more difficult to get logged in.  I've fixed that now, though.  So, what has the past month and a half brought us?  Photos below, all with captions!

1) General cuteness:

Stacked Milners!

Nap time in Dominic's daycare room.  He's the lump front left.

It was really tempting to get them a couple of these chairs...
...but Dom prefers to sit here anyway.

2) Eddie's second birthday party invite via daycare, and her first time roller skating:

Size 12 rental skates!

At first she didn't want to skate at all.  Then she was ridiculously excited about it.

I was inspired to get my own skates out too.  The kids drove them around the kitchen.

We got Eddie skates, hoping to keep up the momentum.  After refusing to take them off the first day, she's refused to put them on ever since.

3) Dominic being insanely cute:

He was very excited to help me pick out Eddie's new shoes.  She has outgrown her 11/12 shoes and is solidly in 13s and 1s - oddly, kid shoe sizes jump the number tracks at that point.

He loved this hat and wanted to wear it in his classroom.  Now all the other kids in his classroom want to wear theirs too.

Drinking water in the bath is allowed when it's straight from the tap!
Sometimes, one misses one's aim.

I followed the giggles one morning and found this going on in the closet.

4) Haircuts!  Dom's first, Eddie's...third? Fourth?

Before, in 98% of their shaggy glory.  I had trimmed up the back of Dom's neck the night before.

Dominic was remarkably stoic about it.

After!

Mostly after.  Eddie only agreed to it after she saw that Dom got a cookie for good behaviour.

5) And finally, Christmas!

Eddie laughed her head off at this photo online of a 'baby elf' drinking maple syrup with a straw.

Dom didn't know what was going on, but the packages caught his interest.

We nearly didn't put up a tree. Then I realised I had no place to put the gifts if we didn't.  The tree topper is a hat Eddoe made.

Dressed up for Christmas Morning, but reluctant to pose for me.

Skyping with Grandma and Grandpa.

Dominic tries to make off with the goods!
It's been a fantastically fun year with the kids.  Dom went from being a squishy 4 month old lump to a rocket propelled bundle of climbing energy.  Eddie was able to emerge from her Cone of Silence and join the rest of the world.  For each of them, this was probably a critical year of phenomenal personal growth and I am incredibly proud of both of them.  They both changed SO much this year.  It has been glorious to watch.  Onward to 2016!
