Well, very nearly.
Dominic surprised Martin yesterday by walking across the room, aided by a wheeled walker toy. He had thought Dom would simply stand at it, but our boy has never been one to miss an opportunity. I came running in with a camera just in time to catch the last few steps, but once he saw me he didn't want to walk anymore.
He went back and forth between us in the bedroom in the evening, and held onto the handle this time so was more upright. Eddie is very excited, and wavered between running back and forth with Dominic and trying to take the walker so she could have a go too.
Earlier that day Dominic was standing by the clear the back door, leaning against it with one hand. Martin was inside with him and Eddie and I were outside. Eddie saw Dominic and ran
over and opened the door. Both Martin and I raced over to save Dom from a
face plant onto the patio…only to find him standing there unaided, looking at me like
”…what?”
Truly, it's only a matter of time before they're both racing around together. Eddie walked a few days after her first birthday. Dom's on track to possibly do it earlier. The example of a big sister is a powerful thing!
