Dominic is now eight weeks old, and just coming off a cold and out of wonder week eight. The cold was a misery for him.Wonder week eight was the worst for Edward as we recall, and was tough for Dom too. On Wednesday he was so bad that every time he was touched or moved he'd cry out as if in pain, so Beth took him to the pediatrician in case he had an injury or internal bleeding. The doctor managed to relieve some internal gas which seemed to help a lot, and Dom's been improving back to his normal quietly happy self ever since. There were some rough nights through the week for all of us, so this weekend is mostly downtime and rest.
Edward continues to enjoy his new daycare, and the teachers enjoy his upbeat and helpful personality. He's been know to lie on the floor giggling helplessly at something that has amused him, while they watch bemused. The indoor gymnasium is a favorite area, and will be great for giving him space to run around as the weather turns colder. He is still very quiet, using only a few words but lots of signs to communicate, while demonstrating full understanding of what we say to him or ask him to do, as long as he is in the mood to listen and comply. In all we know we have two very happy and easy-going boys, and hope we can keep them on this track.
This past week was also the first week of the Fall term at U of O, so it became very busy in the Registrar's office. I am on phone duty several hours a day, and shadowing the 'box' on occasion to learn how to handle students that come into the office in person. I'm greatly enjoying the atmosphere of working at a University, and the commute is much more relaxing than London ever was.
