He's begun climbing things other than stairs now. Here he is having a chill-out in the seat which used to be his co-sleeper.
He's been happily getting himself up and down this thing, looking out the window at will, for about a week. Yesterday he branched out to two more lofty peaks. We put him on the sofa, and he quickly found a new window:
And the other discovery was more of a shock - I looked round to find him here:
We don't know whether he climbed up via the table or the sofa, but I am guessing the table based on the way he was facing.
Kid needs a climbing structure pronto! But they're so expensive. We're keeping an eye on Craiglist, but even secondhand the good ones are often $200+.
Sleep is improving. Ed only wakes up for good reasons - cold, hot, or needs to pee - and usually goes right back to sleep after the issue is resolved. He's averaging about 11 to 12 hours a night, with 2 to 4 wakeups. We've moved the night vision camera to give a better view of what he's up to. It's usually something like this.
And finally, we took him swimming again yesterday. He hadn't been for three or four weeks due to mild illness and other factors. He's completely fearless in the water, and even went under (unexpectedly) a few times without complaint. And he made me get my trouser legs soaked to mid-calf when I had to run in after him at one point.
He's a happy little guy!
