Ed had his 12 month check yesterday:
29.5 inches (45%, the shortie)
25 lb 4.8 oz (85%, the fattie)
head 18 3/4” (80%, the brainiac)
He doesn’t have any words or signs so he’s considered slightly delayed there. She wants to see 5 or 6 words at the 18 month appointment. I'm not worried. He’s not showing signs of autism (he’s very social and responds to facial expressions) and he’s so laid back about everything that I suspect he might wait a long time and then come out in complete sentences or something.
Physically looks good, no problems. She advised us to try to give water instead of milk at night (due to cavities) if he insists on having a drink. She didn’t really talk much about his sleep; he calls out for us often at night and seems to want company as much as anything else.
All foods are cleared with the exception of chokable items. She said the be careful with peanut butter not to spread it too thick, as it’s so cloying in the mouth.
Two shots - the end of the HiB and Prevnar series. We are delaying MMR and chickenpox a bit since he didn’t react well the last time that he had four shots at once, and he’s not in daycare or school so he’s not in a high risk pool. We’ll go back at 15 months for his DTaP and then 18 months for his next well visit.
Post-jabs, Ed is slightly out of sorts and drowsy. This morning he fell asleep on Martin's lap in the armchair, and he hasn’t done that since his newborn days!
