Having a Ball

11 months almost to the day, and Ed is starting to realise that not everything has to go immediately into his mouth when he picks it up.

This ball dispensing toy is rather neat. The balls are all different, some with noises such as a cymbal or bell inside, others with mirrors, rattling balls spinners or a little puzzle. The balls feed in from the top and pulling the lever sends a ball down the chute, and plays a jingle if you have the sounds on. Fortunately they can be turned off and the dispenser works just the same.

So for the first time on Friday Edward started feeding the balls in by himself, pulling the lever, and when they come out at the bottom putting them back in the top again.

He's also started assisted walking with a walker (just visible behind him), or anything else that comes to hand; a cool box, his high chair, or a big 36 pack of toilet rolls. Anything he can slide or roll serves his purpose.
