Edward certainly has his own ideas of fun. We took him to a shady local playpark on Sunday, and his first act was to climb the steps to the smaller slide and slide down. That duty done, he was off to explore the rest of the park, and didn't return for another slide.
There is one other slide at that park, the infamous sui-slide, and he went down that once too later on. Once was enough.
The swing though, several prolonged goes in that, and eventually Beth spotted the vacant stare and downcast eyes that cause Daddy to jank him out swiftly and rest him on a shoulder, and Ed to plant his lunch down daddy's back and onto a concerned Mummy's shoes. Not the first time Ed has asked to be swung until he's sick (or falls asleep).
Back home the next evening mum and dad are busy gardening, while Edley medleyman potters about with his red squirt bottle watering plants judiciously (this is a strictly outdoor activity). I glance over just in time to see him slide down the middle-sized of THREE slides he has the choice of, squirt bottle still clasped in both hands. Once.
Another garden activity, transferred from an indoor game, is sanding the plants. He has a small shaker (an old Parmesan cheese dispenser (and yes blogger software, that is spelled right so you can take off the wobbly red line)) which we fill with sand for him, or he just scoops up himself, and he proceeds to give various plants round the patio a liberal sprinkling of sand. There's more sand on the patio than in the sand table now.
